Who is Mic drop?
Mic Drop originated from a group of musicians who share a mutual love of making music together! We collectively share the belief that being a cover band can still be the engine of artistic energy and excitement! We look forward to sharing such excitement with you on your special day, event or function!
Sarah Van Pelt Wheeler
Sarah Van Pelt Wheeler hails from one of Rhode Island's premier musical families with a rich and varied performance history reaching back over 70 years across several generations. Sarah began singing in the church choir at 4 years old. She soon became a soloist for multiple churches throughout the state before joining the school chorus and band as a floutist in the 5th grade. Before graduating high school, she had placed 1st as a soprano in the All-state Chorus, jazz choir and All New England Chorus. For several years, Sarah was the youngest member of the a cappella group SoundCheck. She was a music education major at the University of RI and also sang with the Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Chorus as a young adult while starting her career with several live bands covering all genres. Sarah's range, stylistically and vocally, are a rare one-two punch. She's every bit at home on stage rocking out at a wedding as she is singing classical in a cathedral!
